Resina is a documentary short film about whales, thermal waters, and an Art Nouveau palace in Salsomaggiore Terme — places that exist upon layers of memories, dialects, and rocks millions of years old.

The project was developed within the Corso di Alta Formazione in Documentary and Experimental Cinema at the Cineteca di Bologna and the University of Parma.

Karl, a young Paraguayan Mennonite, flees after being accused of cattle rustling. In search of a new beginning, he soon realizes that his greatest challenges are not external but internal. Driven by the need for answers, he is forced to confront his own family, identity, culture, and sense of belonging.
